Layer your sleeping pad. If you use layers of pad, be sure to do something so they don’t slide apart. You can also put layers on clothing underneath sleeping pad. Sleeping Bags – layer here as well. Down throw is a good layer, but that is not enough. Biffy sack and multiple sleeping bags is good. Put a summer bag inside a winter bag is a good sleep system. Careful not to get too hot and you might start to sweat which would make you cold. Mummy bad inside a rectangular bag is good. If you can share a tent then put a blanket over top of both. Down blanket is much warmer than wool. Poofiest layer should always be on the outside. It is the air trapped in the loft that ultimately keeps you warm. Every layer should be bigger. Trap more air! CHEMICAL PACKS – can use the body size ones to warm your bag. If you put a couple in your bag an hour before you go to bed – will warm your bed. If your feet get cold, peel off and put a chemical warmer on the top of your foot. Breathing – create a cone – bubble so you can breathe that air. Thin baklava you breathe through. Practice getting in and out of your sleep system before you go to camp! Gloves, hats, sleep clothes | Upcoming Events |
