Crew 2526 is planning on visiting the Oregon Coast to go scuba diving. During the week long stay at Camp Meriwether (subject to change), there will be some hiking as well! Currently: we are in the basic swim training portion. Please read "Swim Conditioning" below for more information.

Swim Conditioning

All scouts looking to participate in the scuba trip should start swimming!
Swimming Goals:
Be able to swim a mile without rest and feel comfortable in the water. Focus is on endurance!

September 2019

This month we had a meeting to plan activities for the next several months and decided to enjoy a final Summer weather adventure. The outdoor adventure was a Paddle – Peddle. We took our bikes to a place in Headwaters Park on the Missouri River, and then drove the canoes and launched them into the Jefferson River. We paddled to the bikes with one exciting moment with a canoe overturning (an adult leader canoe to be precise), and then paddled to the bikes and biked back to the cars. It was a great day, ending with a riverside BBQ with us and the mosquitoes. On the planning side, we decided one meeting a month to have a conference call to focus on planning and make it easier to include members who live further away.
Until next month!

Bike Shake-down and Planning

The meeting started with discussion of the bike trip. After considering 3 ideas from Mr. Dougher, the crew decided to do the event on Sunday, Spet 15 and to do the combination Bike and Canoe activity. See the Activity Page for more details on this event. The following people are coming so far on the Bike/Canoe excursion: Julia, Annika, Sean, Rudy, Christian with Mr. Dougher, Mr Johnson, Mrs. Bailey, and Mrs. Eubanks.

Here are notes from various program and general discussion:
  • Crew will participate in Scout Show Thursday Oct 3 at the Gallatin Mall. They will do a Moulage Demonstration.
  • Crew will be haunting the Story Mansion on October 31.  We need gravestones and any other props welcome to deck out as a ghost.
  • Cedar has a work conflict now on Sundays so not sure when he will be participating.
  • Some meeting may move to Livingston to make it more central to remote scouts. This is a Mr. Dougher idea and more information will come out as we do activities and consider what is best for all.

Bike Shakedown in the rain was fun. Everyone was reminded that a patch kit is an adventure essential, as is a helmet.

Reminder to all new scouts to get an application and and your health form to Mr. Dougher.
Notes by Mrs. Eubanks (until we get a secretary)
